The Webinar

MundoGEO and GeoSUR Program invite you to join this webinar about the European Location Framework project.

The European Location Framework (ELF) project is working to provide up-to-date, authoritative, interoperable, cross-border, reference geo-information for use by the European public and private sectors. This versatile cloud-based and cascade-supporting architecture provides a platform of INSPIRE compliant geo-information, harmonised at a cross-border and pan-European level.

The three-year project is supported by a consortium of 30 partners across Europe, whose work is co-funded by the European Commission. It will foster the wider use of geo-information and enable the creation of innovative value-added services. The projectís proactive stimulation of content markets involves the creation of sample applications using thematic communities to make user-led developments by SMEs (both inside and outside the consortium).

Expected Audience: National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies, Application developers, Spatial Data Infrastructure managers.

The Speaker will be Antti Jakobsson, Technical Co-ordinator of the ELF project. Dr. Antti Jakobsson is a Chief Engineer at the National Land Survey of Finland and the chairman of the Cartographic Society of Finland. Previously he has worked as Programmes Manager at EuroGeographics during 2008-2012. He is currently the Technical Coordinator of the European Location Framework (ELF) project (2013-2016), which is creating a technical infrastructure for sharing authoritative reference datasets in Europe. As a Chief Engineer at the National Land Survey of Finland, he has been working in development of national mapping and National Spatial Data Infrastructure.
