PCI Geomatics will announce the launch of its GeoImaging Accelerator Aerial (GXL-A) software at the Intergeo 2010 Conference this October 5-7 in Cologne, Germany. This follows an earlier announcement in March when Microsoft’s Photogrammetry division, Vexcel Imaging GmbH, agreed to partner with PCI to produce an image processing system specifically for Vexcel Imaging’s UltraCam aerial cameras and UltraMap photogrammetric software.
GXL-A is a best of breed offering and completes PCI’s UltraMap workflow product line with the addition of high-speed orthorectification and mosaicking capabilities. Using PCI’s multi CPU/GPU distributed processing architecture, aerial image producers will realize significant improvement in production throughput and reduced costs. The product will be offered as a standalone deskside or single-node rack system. It is fully upgradable to multiple node architectures and can be integrated into existing IT configurations for existing airphoto producers.
“The GXL-A system is producing blazingly fast results. We’re seeing project times drop from weeks to days—and from days to hours.” said David Piekny, Solutions Product Manager at PCI Geomatics. “This technology is truly a game changer.”
“We are very excited about the results that we are seeing and the work that PCI has put into extending our UltraMap offering,” said Alexander Wiechert, Business Director of Microsoft and Managing Director for Vexcel Imaging GmbH. “We have no doubt that our clients will appreciate having a streamlined, continuous workflow”.
