GeoTekne, a GIS consulting company based in Tandil, Buenos Aires, and OpenGeo, a global leader in open source geospatial solutions, announced a reseller agreement that will bring the OpenGeo Suite Enterprise Edition to Argentina.

OpenGeo is well-known for its contributions and leadership in the development of powerful open source geospatial technologies. The OpenGeo Suite offers a fully-integrated open source geospatial platform for serving maps and data through web applications, mobile devices, and desktop clients. The OpenGeo Suite Enterprise Edition is comprised of tested, integrated, and supported geospatial components including PostGIS, GeoServer, OpenLayers, GeoWebCache, and GeoExt.

Thanks to the reseller agreement, OpenGeo Suite users in Argentina will have access to professional support with GeoTekne. Developers and support experts at OpenGeo will then collaborate with Geotekne as needed to ensure that clients in Argentina have robust open source solutions. José Macchi of GeoTekne said: “This alliance will allow customers in Argentina to have trained local support on OpenGeo platforms and systems, improving the quality of their GIS implementations.”

Chris Holmes, OpenGeo president, added: “We are excited to be working with GeoTekne, as it will allow us to establish local expertise and support for OpenGeo Suite users in Argentina. GeoTekne is a company formed by professionals from diverse disciplines such as remote sensing, geography, and engineering, so we feel confident that Argentinian OpenGeo Suite users will be in good hands.”
