SuperGeo Technologies is authorized to develop a WebGIS to integrate the spatial information related to nuclear disaster. The system provides rich real-time information for the officials to check on maps via the Internet. The precision and reliability of decision-making can be greatly improved.

In order to improve the ability of emergency response and disaster prevention of nuclear plants, Atomic Energy Council (AEC), Taiwan, hopes to establish a WebGIS. The system includes abundant information, such as the evacuation route, disaster information in each village, real-time monitoring information, real-time information of nuclear power plants, and population information, etc; which can assist AEC in decision-making during the process of emergency response.

The system adopts SuperWebGIS 3, the Internet map server software developed by SuperGeo, as the GIS platform core and creates map server to share real-time spatial data for users online. Microsoft SQL Server 2008 is utilized as the database management software to improve the efficiency on data querying and searching.

The Platform Planning is divided into front-end and back-end system. The front-end system is mainly for map navigation, map location, real-time information, attribute data query, evacuation route; the back-end system is for user management, data integration management, data update, importing evacuation route, and simulating disaster development.

Different kinds of real-time information and data are successfully integrated with the system and cooperated with the information of AEC and other organizations. With the well-visualized and easy-to-use interface, users can have the most up-to-date information through the text, list, statistic graphic, animation, real-time imagery, layer overlapping, etc.

In the future, the system will provide more convenient and effective information for organizations in charge of decision-making, rescue organization, and the general public through various services and analysis.
