The Port of Seattle Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac), serving nearly 30 million passengers each year, will deploy Intergraph’s integrated security solutions as part of a public safety and security system upgrade that will provide officers and first responders with advanced tools for incident assessment, detection and response to enhance traveler and employee safety.

The system will be an essential tool for the Port of Seattle police, fire and EMS personnel and will also be used by the police forces responsible for security and public safety for the Port of Seattle Seaport. The technologies will be used to facilitate effective and efficient multi-agency response and have the capability to advance interoperability within the Seattle-Tacoma region.

The suite of solutions will enhance maritime security by providing the Port of Seattle Police Department with domain awareness as they patrol approximately 28 miles of coastline, five marinas housing a large commercial fishing fleet and live-aboards, and work to ensure security for more than 200 cruise ship sailings each year.

The advanced system will collect, manage and analyze vast amounts of data and fuse it into a common operating picture to provide Port Police and security personnel with actionable intelligence. The suite of integrated security solutions will include a core emergency response dispatching environment that is integrated with access control, fire alarms and CCTV.

“Our organization is responsible for the safety and security of the millions of travelers who pass through Sea-Tac each year,” said Ken Irwin, captain, Port of Seattle Police Department. “By providing an integrated approach to prevent, detect and respond to threats and incidents, Intergraph’s solutions ensure the Port of Seattle can meet today’s security demands and the potential challenges of tomorrow.”

“Intergraph is a leading provider of integrated public safety and security software that enables multi-agency response and regional interoperability. We are proud to be the trusted partner of some of the nation’s largest and busiest airports, including Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Chicago Midway Airport, and San Francisco International Airport,” said Reid French, Intergraph executive vice president and chief operating officer. “Our proven suite of integrated security solutions provides enterprise-wide security to protect critical infrastructure of national importance, such as busy international airports. Partnering with the Port of Seattle reaffirms Intergraph’s commitment to aiding transportation organizations in their emergency incident response and prevention efforts.”
