Leica Geosystems established its entry into the Australian agricultural equipment productivity market with the announcement of its new mojoRTK product platform. The primary function of mojoRTK is to provide Australian farmers with simple and reliable autosteer at a cost effective price. Featuring state-of-the-art No-Drift™ technology (based on Leica Geosystems’ world renowned GPS/GLONASS RTK positioning) allows Leica Geosystems to guarantee ±5 cm accuracy. Adding to the peace of mind that farmers can expect with mojoRTK, the package includes unparalleled customer support options that will save farmers both money and time.
Adding to the usability of the system, and another first from Leica Geosystems, is Virtual Wrench™.
The benefit of this is that Virtual Wrench™ offers remote service and diagnostics capabilities via the Australian mobile phone wireless network. This eliminates the cost of conventional on-farm servicing that involves traditional mechanics, service trucks and down-times.
“At the owner’s request, a technician in Brisbane will see exactly what an operator in Esperance WA sees on the mojoRTK screen to assist with installation, training and service resolution,” said Tony Witney, Australian Service and Support Manager. “The technician can be in the cab in seconds using Leica Geosystems’ exclusive Virtual Wrench™ support technology.”
Virtual Wrench™ also enables the remote diagnosis of system faults, GPS/GLONASS availability and remote software upgrades. This means no more costly phone tag, and no more travel charges.
“Effectively servicing new high-tech Ag equipment such as auto-steer has been a great frustration for farmers. Customers want realistic service claims and charges from their equipment suppliers. Leica mojoRTK with Virtual Wrench™ makes a better change so farmers can minimise costly machine downtime and excessive service charges,” said Witney.
Leica’s mojoRTK includes the Ag industry’s first all-in-one cordless RTK base station. Operation requires no cables for power, radios or antennas, allowing farmers to set up and get to work faster. The mojoRTK base station features an LCD user interface for easy set up and lithium rechargeable batteries.
Leica mojoRTK’s autosteer guidance system uniquely incorporates a quality AM/FM radio with MP3 player input. The reason? It’s the first to use the standard radio slot for mounting the guidance unit. Using the tools provided, almost anyone can install the stylish and compact console. This saves farmers pricey installation costs, whilst reducing unwanted cab clutter — leaving a place for your lunch box!
mojoRTK’s platform is built around Leica Geosystems’ new ‘MObile JOb console. National Reseller Manager, Glenn Clark, said that “Our aim was to make accurate RTK technology affordable to a much broader customer base than it is today. To achieve this, we realised that we had to meet the farmer’s demands for reliability, simplicity and convenience.”
