Blusens, the Spanish company at the forefront of advanced consumer technology, has presented its new G01 SatNav device, an innovative GPS system developed in collaboration with Blom which uses Pictometry® images.

It is a device that is revolutionising the GPS market: the new PhotoNav 3D navigation software employs images taken at an oblique angle to the ground, so that in locations with over 50.000 inhabitants users can view the façades of buildings and their current route or where they are going live.

It allows users to navigate in a totally visual manner, doing away with the 2-dimensional maps that are typical of the other navigation devices that are currently on the market.

By virtue of the collaboration agreement, the two companies joined forces and technologies to create a product that truly is a breakthrough in GPS navigation, taking the concept to a new level: navigation over real images. Blusens has supplied its experience in hardware and integration, while Blum has contributed its aerial photography-based pictometric images.

Technical Data
It has a 4.3”” touch-screen LCD, a 30 GB internal hard drive and Bluetooth connectivity. It measures 145x80x23 mm (length x breadth x height) and weighs 280 grams. It is equipped with an SD/MMC card reader, audio output for headset and an external GPS antenna socket.Bluesens G01 SatNav

It can be used as an external hard drive, and the Firmware can be updated via the Blusens website (www.blusens.com). The Blusens G01 will be available at the end of November, at an estimated recommended retail price of € 499.

Additional functions
As well as being a GPS with coordinates and a compass, it has multimedia functions, including audio, MP3, MPEG4 video and digital photography. If the driver exceeds the speed limit, the device emits an alarm to warn of a possible infraction; it also detects radars and surveillance cameras.

In the setup, the user can choose from a number of different voices, personalise the screen colours and swap the language. Drivers will not need to search for the same address twice, as they will be able to choose from "last destination", "bookmarks", "next" or "points of interest" options.

Finally, if users wish to make a note of anything, they can activate a virtual notepad, and carry on in an organised way, without having to worry about searching their vehicles for a pen, etc. The Blusens G.01 comes with built-in stereo speakers, car mounting kit, AC/DC power cable, USB (2.0 interface) cable, stylus and user manual.

Originality and technological innovation
Being such an original and innovative device, it has generated a good deal of excitement, and has appeared in the news on the principal TV channels.
