Galileo, the Europe’s Satellite Navigation System (GNSS), the most important technological innovation project in the European Union. Galileo, is a joint initiative of European Space Agency and the European Commission.
It will bring an amount of technological advantages, making possible high added value services all over the world. Galileo will also make for the development of new universal services with a broad scope of applications.
International Cooperation
The International Cooperation is an essential dimension for the European GNSS Programmes. More specifically, a strong component of the International Cooperation concerns the cooperation between Latin America and Europe, supported since 2005 by the Galileo Information Centre (GIC) and its dissemination and educational activities in the region.
Indeed, GNSS Education appears to be the most effective response to prepare tomorrow’s professionals from the sector to the the changing and innovative industrial needs. In that context, the GIC successfully organized the first Galileo Summer School for Latin America which took place in December 2007 hosted by CRECTEALC Campus Brazil.
Galileo School
The Galileo Information Centre for Latin America, jointly with Latino Partner, CRECTEALC/Campus Mexico, in partnership with INAOE invites you to participate to the Galileo School on October 1-2, 2008, at INAOE Auditorium, in Puebla, Mexico.
The training of 2-days intensive lectures will introduce the actual Global Navigation Satellite Systems with a special focus on the European Programmes. The training aims to present the actual Galileo and EGNOS Systems: principles, architecture, signal and services, as well as its worldwide application available in a very near future. The lectures will be given by team of experts on GNSS fields of interest to provide a robust and complete formation on Galileo. The teaching language will be Spanish.
