Blue Marble Geographics announces Applied Geodesy training sessions featuring the Geographic Calculator and the Geographic Transformer in conjunction with the 5th Annual Map Middle East Conference in Dubai, UAE the week of April 13th 2009. These daylong sessions are in-depth training courses based on these two powerful data conversion applications.
Each course features education on the fundamentals of geodesy and mapping, which is useful for both the novice as an introduction, and as a refresher for the expert geodesist. In fact, many people choose to attend these courses for the geodesy training alone. Here is a chance to not only educate oneself on the foundations of geodesy and mapping concepts, but also learn how to harness the power of Blue Marble’s suite of geospatial solutions, used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software companies, universities, oil and gas companies, civil engineering, surveying, technology, enterprise GIS groups, government and military organizations.
Training will also focus on the features of the Blue Marble Desktop, an all in one geospatial data management platform for Blue Marble’s popular data transformation tools. The Geographic Calculator and Geographic Transformer now reside in the same desktop window along with all of the capabilities of the Geographic Translator, which may be accessed from the Vector File Conversion tab of the Calculator. Work seamlessly with all of the features of both applications in a single interface through a combined license. Whether you are working with coordinate, vector, CAD or raster data, the Blue Marble Desktop allows you to address your data conversion challenges within the same application interface. Leverage the power of these tools with ESRI’s ArcGIS through two toolbar extensions. Version 1.1 of the Desktop features expanded vector and CAD file translation capabilities through the Geographic Calculator 7.2. Users can now translate between 20 different vector and CAD file formats. The ArcGIS Extension now features support for ESRI Spatial database conversions for SDE, File Geodatabase, and Personal Geodatabase.
Other valuable features of these courses include learning how to expand the geodetic capabilities of ArcGIS to ensure accuracy of data, improve the quality of data, and to create workflows and projects that reduce errors and improve time-to-market. If you are concerned about highly accurate mapping, but want those capabilities in the great interfaces and powerful tools of the Arc environment then this is the course for you.
