‘Wild Creature Data Survey System’ is a system designed for Taiwanese Council of Agriculture to survey wild animals and plants. This system utilizes SuperGIS Mobile Engine as the core.
With various GIS components and highly flexible developing architecture provided by SuperGIS Mobile Engine, developers can create an outdoor survey system based on users’ requirements.
The system containing flexible and abundant functions can be implanted to Windows Mobile Edition, Windows Tablet Edition, and Windows XP, etc.
The functions in the system are listed below.
Map Orientation
Map orientation function enables users to rapidly orient the location that users are interested in by means of features, landmarks, and coordinates. Users can also use GPS receivers to display relative maps by taking his or her current position as the map center.
Map Manipulation
The system contains common map manipulation functions, such as zoom in/out, panning, full extent. Users can browse and utilize maps easily and conveniently.
Wild Creature Survey
Users can fill in wild creature survey data by clicking on the map. In the system, the must-fill-in columns are highlighted and some of relevant columns are already written in automatically. This largely reduces inconvenience for users.
E-Map Survey
With GPS orientation function, the system takes user’s present location as the center of the paper map and displays the map accordingly. Users can fill in the data through drop-down menus so the time filling in data is shortened. This also improves work efficiency.
Map Management
Through the management interface, users can manage the ways of displaying vector layers. The displaying ways are changeable.
With highly friendly interfaces, ‘Wild Creature Data Survey System’ not only supports GPS functions to meet outdoor surveyors’ needs, but also facilitates the surveyors to record and collect creature data efficiently. Users can also upload the collected data to the server by data management tools, so all the data can be managed centrally and conveniently.
