SuperGeo recently is releasing the whole new SuperGIS 3 Series Software in succession. The beta version of SuperPad 3, the mobile GIS software, is just issued with several other sets of software. The official version of SuperPad 3 is expected to be launched by the end of August.
SuperGeo introduces SuperPad 3 Beta. Based on SuperGIS Mobile Engine, SuperPad 3 will enhance effectiveness and productivity for field workers because of the significant improvement of the convenient user interface, functionalities, computational efficiency, and flexibility of customization. Moreover, the files in SuperPad 3 and the settings along with the symbols in SuperGIS Desktop or other GIS software are exchangeable; the speed of mapping and the use of projects are thus greatly improved.
The features of SuperPad 3 are listed below.
Brand-new Core Component
SuperPad 3 is the mobile GIS software based on SuperGIS Mobile Engine, which is a SDK structured on .NET Compact Framework. Thus, SuperPad 3 can be implemented on any mobile devices that support .NET Compact Framework 2.0 SP2 or higher to extend the performance platform.
Whole New User Interface
To facilitate users to manipulate the interface more conveniently, SuperPad 3 provides a whole new user interface. The new and user-friendly toolbars are designed in a small but clear icon; this allows users to display mobile maps on bigger space and thus improves field-work efficiency. GPS status bar is added at the bottom of the window in SuperPad 3. Users can adjust the color and transparency of the status bar so that users can manage the coordinates clearly without reducing the space for map display.
Smart Editing Toolbar
SuperPad 3 provides a smart Editing Bar which assists users to edit features. Several assistant tools are provided in Editing Toolbar, such as Fixed Extent, Undo, and Redo functions. With these tools, users can conveniently manage the features and save the changes after confirming; therefore, the efficiency of editing is increased significantly.
Improving the Use of Spatial Reference
SuperPad 3 offers complete spatial reference objects to support more than 100 commonly-used coordinate systems in the world. Therefore, layers with different coordinate systems can be adjusted and overlaid together in SuperPad 3, and the use of the layers can be increased.
Multiple Customized Extensions
SuperPad 3 offers various built-in customized extensions, such as Sketch, Bird View, and Routing. The original code sample will be appended in the product, enabling developers to develop various extensions quickly. The development environment can be Visual studio or text editors, such as Notepad. All you need to do is utilize VB.NET or C#, and the customized extension can be built to meet your needs.
