NAVTEQ Selected by SIGSA to Provide Navigable Maps for Enterprise GIS Solutions Aimed

NAVTEQ announced today that it has established a reseller agreement with Sistemas de Informacion Geografica, the authorized ESRI distributor for Mexico.

SIGSA offers a complete solution of geospatial services including aerial photography, digital photogrammetry, digital maps, DTM, DEM generation, data collection, digital map publishing and enterprise GIS system development for both private companies and Mexican state, municipal and federal institutions.

SIGSA is also recognized as one of ESRI’s largest and most successful distributors in the Americas. As an authorized NAVTEQ distributor, SIGSA will now have the ability to sell NAVTEQ map data of Mexico. NAVTEQ’s map data of Mexico can be used to provide navigation and routing capabilities as a complementary layer to the information provided in SIGSA’s existing solution.

SIGSA will specialize in bundling ESRI software and tools with NAVTEQ map data to develop, implement and integrate geospatial applications using ESRI GIS and BPM for their customers.

Known for their quality, NAVTEQ maps are built to a single data specification allowing customers to easily and cost-effectively move into new markets by optimizing their development efforts in one country for use in another. In addition to maps for Mexico, NAVTEQ provides maps in Latin America for Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela. Additionally, a dedicated technical customer support team is available to assist customers with integrating its map into applications.

In Mexico, the NAVTEQ map covers approximately 470,000 km or 96% of the population. The Mexico map also contains over 136,000 Points of Interest such as restaurants, hotels, gas stations and banks to provide users with the ability to select their destination by either the POI listing or address. NAVTEQ geographic analysts located in Mexico City and Leon use local knowledge and local contacts to collect and verify details of the roads. They drive thousands of kilometers each year and have local knowledge of road network changes helping to make NAVTEQ maps the freshest and most up-to-date offerings available.
