NAVTEQ’s broad visual content portfolio brings the map to life with 3D landmarks and cities to help simplify complex driving situations and assist in orienting the driver to their surroundings by replicating on the navigation screen what the end-user sees out their windshield. In Brazil, NAVTEQ Discover Cities and visual content are available for Belo Horizante, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

Also demonstrated in the booth will be the NAVTEQ Mobility Portal Solution, a flexible and customizable location-based service that leverages and integrates NAVTEQ Connected Services products, along with best-in-class third-party capabilities in navigation, destination management, commute management and social networking. The NAVTEQ Mobility Portal Solution simplifies operational challenges for customers by providing a turnkey, customizable, globally-hosted solution.

NAVTEQ maps are unique in their representation of real-world driving conditions. With maps spanning 78 countries and territories, NAVTEQ has built one of the most robust and accurate geographic databases in the world. From turn restrictions to relative road crossing heights, NAVTEQ captures up to 260 data attributes in the NAVTEQ database to enable a quality navigation experience. In Brazil, dozens of NAVTEQ geographic analysts, located in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre use local knowledge and local contacts to collect and verify details of the roads. They drive thousands of kilometers each year and have local knowledge of road network changes helping to make NAVTEQ maps the freshest and most up-to-date.

In Brazil, the NAVTEQ map covers over 942,000 km of roads. Complete coverage is available in major metropolitan cities with additional coverage in 1,290 cities throughout Brazil. The Brazil map also contains over 65,000 core Points of Interest such as restaurants, hotels, gas stations and banks. Additionally, over 2 million extended listing POIs are available providing users with the ability to select their destination by either the POI listing or address.
