The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment launched a Differential Global Positioning System to receive round the clock positioning signals from the United States satellite system in Vietnam’s central province of Quang Nam.
The 1,000W station, worth 12 billion Vietnam Dong, comes with an outdoor antenna system with a 700km diameter of coverage, according to the Vietnam news agency on Monday.
The station will be useful for the development of the sea-borne economy and the management of natural resources and environment.
It will also help to accelerate drawing maps to serve land survey, certification of land use rights in Quang Nam province and other central coastal provinces.
