Surface Real World Models has completed the thematic mapping and digital surface models for the entire southern region of Brazil. The mapping provided by Surface contains 33 topics of use classes and land cover while DSM contains attributes 3D altimetry, both for all cities in Parana, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
It is made by satellite images and it has accurate mapping compatible with the scale of 1:100,000 or larger view of the Brazilian standard cartographic accuracy, treated at the IBGE topographic maps at scales of 1:100,000. Since the DSM is made through a specific method of processing radar data in orbit, Surface DSM is a digital surface model with a final spatial resolution of 10 meters. The product meets the standard of accuracy mapping on a scale of 1:50,000 with equidistance of contour lines of 25 by 25 m. Compared to the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission of NASA, the Surface DSM has better accuracy and is 81 times more detailed.
With these specifications the Surface DSM allows us to perform advanced analysis, in which relief is an important factor in the decision process, it is possible to create a slope map, identify risk areas, runoff, permanent preservation area, wind power, among other possible solutions and it is improved when using the Surface DSM with data Thematic Mapping also developed by the Surface.
