LinkedIn becomes platform for geo-information diffusion

MundoGEO, one of the largest sources of information on geo-technologies in Latin America and around the world, has recently reached the mark of 1,2 thousand members in LinkedIn. Thus, the social net enters the hall of the great diffusing platforms of geo-information.

Having great interaction of the net users, LinkedIn provides an atmosphere of sharing of ideas and debates among professionals, who may share and publish events, courses and job opportunities. Besides, MundoGEO is present in other important social nets such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.

Besides the news presented by MundoGEO portal, MundoGEO group in LinkedIn counts on debates that only happen on the net.”Our group began as an extension of the portal, just with a RSS of the daily news, but today it has already got its own life”, comments Eduardo Freitas, mediator of MundoGEO. “As LinkedIn is a net well focused on professional contacts, the group MundoGEO ends up being a place where the geo-technology professionals can meet and  debate very specific” subjects, concludes Eduardo.

GeoConnectPeople

MundoGEO launched, less than one month ago, a social net turned to the geo-information sector, GeoConnectPeople. In this period, the net is very close to reaching 2 thousand users and already counts on almost 70 groups. Geoprocessamento, ArcGIS-Brazil, Geography, Geospatial Database Sharing, Cartography and GIS are the groups with larger number of members.
