MundoGEO and InfoGPS portals will hold, on December 13 from 11am, an online seminar that will address GeoCap, the regional project winner in the European Competition of Satellite Navigation (ESNC 2011).
GeoCap is a subsystem of GIS-RB developed for support of accidents with hazardous materials, for use on handheld computers or smartphones. By combining the geographical coordinates of the point of a hazardous materials accident, located by GPS, the system allows GeoCap to determine the sub-basins affected by a spill of hazardous products.
Combining the sub-basins with the position of water abstractions are informed those at risk of contamination by this accident and the list of contacts to be warned of the risk, in collections and sending it through a web service, to warn others about the incident. GeoCap also provides the user with information about dangerous products, according to the UN chart and the guideline procedures inquiry, giving you more accuracy and speed in steps to minimize the consequences of the accidents.
With free of charge access, this online seminar is designed for managers involved in civil defense, transportation of dangerous goods, logistics and mobile GIS, emergency crew – firefighters, police, road operators and agents of the environmental and water resources management.
The spokepersons of the webinar will be: Fabio Rodrigo de Oliveira, technologist of data processing, and Arlei Benedito Macedo, a geologist, Doctor.
