MundoGEO#Connect 2012 gathers more than 3,350 professionals

MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2012, the largest and most important event in the geospatial industry in Latin America, was held on May 29 thru 31 at the Frei Caneca Convention Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and gathered more than 3,350 professionals among visitors and participants of the seven workshops, four forums, eight courses, an users meeting, 10 workshops and the awards, which recognized the best of the geospatial market.

 The event had an increase of 25% compared to last year’s edition. Furthermore, over 27 countries were represented at the event, including more than 30 simultaneous activities and 75 global brands in the fair

MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2012, the largest and most important event in the geospatial industry in Latin America, was held on May 29 thru 31 at the Frei Caneca Convention Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and gathered more than 3,350 professionals among visitors and participants of the seven workshops, four forums, eight courses, an users meeting, 10 workshops and the awards, which recognized the best of the geospatial market.

These numbers indicate a growth of 25% of the total participants compared to the previous event, in 2011. In addition, there was a significant increase of international participants, since 27 nations were represented at the event, especially Latin American countries like Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Panama, Costa Rica, Peru, Uruguay and Ecuador. Countries from Asia, Africa, Europe and North America, particularly the United States, with representatives mainly linked to global companies of the geospatial industry.

At the expo, 45 booths were set up, containing more than 75 international brand names. MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2012 event had over 110 speakers, and many were from abroad, who made presentations simultaneously translated to Spanish and Portuguese languages.

Among the participants from Brazil, the Southeast region was the one with the largest number of delegates at the event (51%), followed by the South (19%), Midwest (15%), Northeast (10%) and North (5%).

“The event achieved its mission of connecting the main leaders in the industry. In many parallel events, at the fair and in social gatherings, an intense exchange of experiences was noticed. Thus, these participants could return to their cities, countries and workplaces with more information to improve their projects and give a strong boost to their professional careers”, says Emerson Granemann, director and publisher of MundoGEO, founder of MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica.

Eduardo Freitas, coordinator of the lectures and editor of MundoGEO web portal and magazine, reports that the 2013 edition of MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica is already scheduled in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at the Frei Caneca Convention Center between June 18 and 20, with the theme: “New Ideas, Great Solutions”.
