Blue Marble Geographics will be exhibiting at the upcoming SPAR International conference to showcase new LiDAR classification features in Global Mapper 14.1. This exciting event will be held on April 15th through the 18th in Colorado Springs, Colorado and will focus on new innovations in 3D data technology.Analyzing 3D data has recently emerged as one of the most important components of a GIS.

Global Mappper 14.1

The proliferation of LiDAR data is such that highly accurate data can be collected in a fraction of the time by today’s hardware, overwhelming the ability of most software to

process the data. Blue Marble will demonstrate Global Mapper’s unique ability to address many if not all of your 3D data challenges. Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation, visualization and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software, oil and gas, mining, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, as well as governmental and university organizations.

Blue Marble will present the new and improved LiDAR features of Global Mapper 14.1, including information on how Global Mapper has significantly improved its ability to load and classify massive amounts of LiDAR point cloud data, jumping from tens of millions of points to hundreds of millions of points. This is beneficial for previewing the data before creating a gridded surface model and includes several options for filtering data during import and rendering point clouds to reflect return type or intensity. Improved metadata access provides a detailed statistical breakdown of the point cloud and customizable point size improves on-screen display.

“SPAR is the perfect venue to showcase this release,” remarks Adam Hill, Senior Sales Manager.  “The latest enhancements that have been introduced into Global Mapper v14.1 significantly enhance loading speed, and the processing and exporting of massive LiDAR point clouds.  Global Mapper v14.1 also contains new LiDAR classification options which allow users to ensure point classification accuracy when visualizing LiDAR data, something I’m sure this year’s SPAR attendees will definitely appreciate.”

Blue Marble will also be co-presenting with Mike Maylone from Intermap on using Global Mapper desktop and the developer tools for post processing imagery and terrain data.
