Expo 2015 and Telecom Italia, in collaboration with the monthly magazine Domus, launched “Digital Ideas for Expo City 2015”, the ideas contest addressed to designers, with the aim of identifying innovative solutions, based on new digital technologies that are applicable in an urban and domestic context and able to positively affect the territory and people’s life.
The three best selected projects will be developed in the Digital Smart City of Expo Milano 2015, a digitalized and sustainable area which Telecom Italia, as the Global Service Partner of the Universal Exposition, will contribute to realize.
The project “Digital Ideas for Expo City 2015” aims at involving students, architects and designers who are invited to present new ideas for using new digital technologies, such as Cloud Computing and NFC (Near Field Communications), that are also applicable to urban and domestic areas, in order to transform the city’s life in a smarter, more efficient and more sustainable way.
The proposals must be submitted on the website until the 30th August, 2013 and will be selected by a high qualified jury, composed by Nicola di Battista (architect and professor of Architectural Planning at the University of Cagliari), Joseph Grima (Domus Director), Marco Patuano (CEO Telecom Italia), Carlo Ratti (MIT Professor), Franco Regis (Deputy President Energy Purchase & Management, Telecom Italia), Italo Rota (architect, Studio Italo Rota & Partners), Giuseppe Sala (CEO Expo 2015).
