Global mining hardware and software developer Maptek has announced that its Laser Imaging Solutions division has gained accreditation to the international quality standard ISO 9001.
‘This is the result of almost two years concentration on formalising our processes and procedures to ensure our quality systems meet the exacting requirements of this standard’, said Athy Kalatzis, Manager of Laser Imaging Solutions for Maptek.
‘Led by Manufacturing Support and Quality Manager, Quentin Lewis, the entire laser imaging systems team in Adelaide was involved to bring this to fruition.’
The final authorised audit was conducted by ECAAS in late May, with official notification of success on June 16.
‘The accreditation is formal recognition of the improvements that Maptek has implemented during 5 years of significant growth and structural change in the Laser Imaging Solutions division. It will provide customers with an additional measure of confidence in our capability to manufacture robust, quality systems,’ concluded Kalatzis.
The registration covers the Quality Management System for the provision of the Design, Development, Manufacture, Supply and Maintenance of Measurement Equipment, related accessories, software processing packages and consultancy services.
Since becoming involved in laser scanning in 2001, Maptek has progressed the I-Site product range to the current offering of 3 laser scanners and 4 software systems tailored to mining, civil engineering and forensic applications.
