OGC invite I/ITSEC attendees to see how open standards integrate geospatial services

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Working Group invite all I/ITSEC attendees to attend a demonstration of new standards developments that provide the capability to rapidly discover, transform, and stream geospatial data from Internet sources into Modeling and Simulation applications. The USGIF M&S Working Group Demo is part of the I/ITSEC 2013 Modeling, Simulation & Training Conference, to be held this year in Orlando, Florida. The demonstration will be held in the Warfighter Corner, Booth #2781 in the South Concourse at the Orange County Convention Center on 4 December, from 1300 to 1500 EST. Additional information about the Demo will be available at the Demo Exhibit Booth, Booth #2392 on the I/ITSEC Exhibit Floor.

Demo attendees will be invited to enter into a drawing for a Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet! See details at the Demo or at the Demo Exhibit Booth. The OGC and USGIF also invite I/ITSEC attendees to attend the I/ITSEC Panel Discussion on Geospatial Environment Database Standards (details below).

The USGIF M&S Working Group Demo simulations will feature two hypothetical scenarios — a military rescue operation against terrorists in Yemen and civilian oil spill response activity in Hawaii. Attendees will see how implementations of open standards enable:
• Direct flow of real-world maps, Earth images, sensor data, ocean data, weather data etc. into M&S applications, and
• Direct flow of M&S generated data out to other applications.

Attendees will have an opportunity to meet the developers and discuss the opportunities that arise from standards-based integration of geospatial systems and M&S systems.

The following corporations and government agencies, most of which are members of both OGC and the USGIF Modeling and Simulation Working Group, have contributed data, hardware, models and simulation applications for the demo:
• CACI
• CAE
• Compusult
• DigitalGlobe
• Envitia
• exactEarth
• NOAA / US IOOS
• VT MAK

Earl Miller, USSOCOM, will give the closing talk at the demo.

Some of the demo participants will be speaking at a special Panel Discussion on Geospatial Environment Database Standards. This panel discussion will be held on Thursday 6 December from 1030 to 1200 in Room S320GH in the South Concourse at the Convention Center. Speakers will include:
