DroneMetrex is excited to announce that unsurpassed NIR mapping data were captured with the TopoDrone-100.
It is for the first time in the UAV’s mapping history that such high quality Near Infra Red (NIR) imagery was captured!
Thomas Tadrowski, Managing Director of DroneMetrex states: “We say “unique high quality mapping” because the data are both radiometrically and geometrically unparalleled from a drone. From the one flight sortie, TopoDrone-100 users are able to perform vegetation analysis mapping as well as accurate 3D contours/DTM mapping. The pixel resolution is unsurpassed. The data geometry is unsurpassed. The radiometric mapping is unsurpassed.”
DroneMetrex offers their Extended Spectrum Mapping (ESM) camera modification as an option with the TopoDrone-100. After ESM modification, the camera is supplied with 3 external screw-on lens filters. Using simultaneously the NIR filter and also high accuracy L1/L2/L5/GLONASS/COMPASS(BeiDou-2) PPK Direct Georeferencing Solution the TopoDrone-100 captures 3-band imagery, with the near infra-red band recording unparalleled radiometric quality and chlorophyll discrimination.
The fantastic radiometric quality is achieved because DroneMetrex specialists perform the camera necessary modifications themselves, and have designed the external filters specifically to match the requirements of accurate, discriminative vegetation mapping.
High-quality NIR data serves as a perfect tool to detect chlorophyll and because chlorophyll is emitted by all vegetation to different degrees, experts from Land and Forest Departments, Agronomists, Vignerons and Pastoralists will be able to:
•discriminate between health and vigour of vegetation
•discriminate between different types of vegetation
•it will also provide excellent cues to vegetation stress, disease, pest infection, irrigation faults, nutrient variations etc.
DroneMetrex Pty Ltd is a company specialising in the autonomous data acquisition, near real-time data feeds, and accurate survey and photogrammetric mapping information services from “Drones”. This provides alternative solutions to costly data acquired from aircraft or similar airborne and/or vehicular platforms over areas that are not economically justified to be captured by such large aircraft, or may be difficult and/or dangerous for “manned” aircrafts or vehicles or ground survey teams. With the TopoDrones the company produces truly accurate mapping data – 25mm accuracy in height – reliably, repeatedly, accurately.
