Spar Point Group, organizer of Spar Europe 3D Measurement & Imaging Conference and European Lidar Mapping Forum (ELMF), announced that early-bird registration is open for the events which will take place together 11-13 November 2013 at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Furthermore, the preliminary conference schedule has been posted and more than 40 speakers named to participate in the conference program. “We encourage people to register early so they are assured a place, especially this year when we are combining two conferences,” said Lisa Murray, event director. “They’ll save as much as €100 by registering on or before 30 September.” Registration is available online here.

The 2013 program contains extensive conference programming and networking opportunities, as well as ample exhibit hall hours during which attendees can peruse the newest hardware and software solutions. Additionally, the events feature live data capture demonstrations, mobile mapping vehicles, roundtable dinner discussions, a university pavilion, technical seminars and user group meetings. “The various elements of the program work together to ensure that the professionals who come to Spar Europe/ELMF leave with the expert education, strategic connections and cutting-edge hardware and software solutions to reduce project costs, improve workflows, enhance safety, and produce higher quality deliverables,” said Ms. Murray.

Already, more than 40 expert presenters are on the schedule, with 75 expected in all. Presentations cover New Technologies; Civil Infrastructure; Land & Natural Resource Management; Process, Power & Utilities; Metrology: Discrete Manufacturing & Short-Range Scanning; Building & Architecture; Digital Cultural Preservation; and Forensics & Security Planning. Presentations are designated according to level (beginner, intermediate and advanced), workflow stage (capture, process, deliver) and audience type (beginner, intermediate and advanced).

Spar Europe and ELMF are taking place together for the first time in 2013, following Spar Point Group’s acquisition of ELMF and its sister event, the International Lidar Mapping Forum. The events had taken place separately since launching in 2010. “By holding our European events together, we are able to provide our customers the full spectrum of data capture, processing and delivery education at one time,” said Ms. Murray, who added that one registration fee provides access to both events. The Fiatech Europe & Middle East Meeting and the LFM User Meeting are taking place in conjunction with Spar Europe/ELMF in 2013.
