3D Laser Mapping, the UK based specialist in laser measurement technology, has announced its inaugural European User Conference. Aimed at both existing and prospective users of laser scanning systems the event will provide hands-on training, end user presentations and of course networking opportunities. Representatives from two of Europe’s leading software houses will be on hand, togther with the 3D Laser Mapping team, to demonstrate the latest technology developments and answer questions from delegates. The Conference will take place from the 05 to 07 June 2007 at the Holiday Inn Nottingham.

“We have organised this event in response to requests from our users,” said Dr Graham Hunter, Managing Director of 3D Laser Mapping. “With increasing demands being placed on laser scanning technology it is important that our users are supported to the best of our ability. By combining software specific workshops and problem solving question and answer sessions with end user case studies and technology presentations we hope to offer something for everyone.”

The three-day conference will offer attendees a number of options. The first two days are split into two technology tracks allowing a choice of hands-on workshops. A representative from Terrasolid will demonstrate the latest developments in their TerraScan software; designed to read the millions of measurements captured by laser scanning, create 3D visualisations and enable classification of the data and the creation of vector models. In addition attendees will receive instruction in TerraPhoto; Terrasolid’s application for the processing and orthorectification of aerial photographs.

The second technology track will feature RiScan Pro the data acquisition, viewing and processing companion software for Austrian based Riegl Laser Measurement Systems range of laser imaging scanner systems.

In addition to the technology specific tracks the event will also offer attendees the chance to learn from each other. A range of end user case studies will demonstrate real world applications of laser scanning, problem solving and the innovative use of technology. There will of course be opportunities to network and socialise with other delegates and the 3D Laser Mapping team.
