Magic Instinct Software, from France, has released Geogarage, a software service used for interactive mapping publishing and targeted to organisms which have data but don’t know how to publish them.
Its mission is to integrate digital mapping data (maps, orthophotos, in any formats) to provide web hosting and to diffuse them in ASP mode, storing huge geographical documents and displaying the images with raster tiles technology.
For people interested in having a specific viewer, Geogarage also provides some unbranded web mapping viewer based on a Flash viewer.
On their website you can find different examples of applications. One of them based on coastal orthophotos of the French littoral (better quality than the Geoportail images) is composed of more of 3 millions small raster tiles.
