VERIPOS has awarded a contract to Septentrio Satellite Navigation of Belgium for supply of its latest dual-frequency GPS-GLONASS receivers and matching L-band modules to provide VERIPOS global range of augmentation services. Under the contract, the two companies will also collaborate on joint development of other advanced solutions to further enhance accuracy, reliability and integrity of precise navigation and positioning technology on behalf of users worldwide.

Equipment being provided by Septentrio, one of Europe’s foremost suppliers of high-end dual-frequency GNSS receivers and an active participant in major EU and ESA-funded development projects, includes its new compact low-power AsteRx2 receivers and associated L-band modules. They will collectively enable Veripos to deliver its full portfolio of augmentation services ranging from its single-frequency VERIPOS Standard service to its high accuracy PPP service, VERIPOS Ultra.

Commenting on the Agreement, Septentrio’s Chief Executive Peter Grognard said: “The fact that we have been selected following a market-wide bidding process to provide systems for work in challenging environments is a tribute to the calibre of our products and team. We are convinced that collaboration with Veripos will result in particularly innovative solutions that will benefit customers of both companies.”

Responding, Bobby Johnson, Technical Director of VERIPOS, said: “Septentrio’s products combine excellent data-quality with flexibility and robustness and will enable us to provide our full range of services via a single hardware platform. Moreover, reception hardware is readily upgradeable for enhancement of services without any need to visit vessels.”
