eSpatial, a global enterprise geospatial software and technology company, and NAVSYS a leading company in the development of advanced navigation technologies have announced a partnership to provide advanced, web delivered geospatial intelligence.

One of the first deliverables of this partnership is a web delivered Geo-Referenced Image Management application “WebGRIM” – an innovative application that facilitates the real-time collection, processing and delivery of high resolution near real-time video imagery data. The WebGRIM application combines technology from NAVSYS, PCI Geomatics and eSpatial into a single platform with delivery to any web browser.

WebGRIM, stores images and associated camera position and attitude metadata in an Oracle database for quick and reliable access to virtually unlimited amounts of imagery. WebGRIM provides the tools to display, sort, manage, and use the resulting imagery for photogrammetry, feature mapping and accurate position identification. WebGRIM uses PCI Geomatics’ Automatic Mosaicking ProPack to automatically generate mosaics from georeferenced images provided by NAVSYS’ GI-Eye GPS/inertial/video system. WebGRIM uses iSMART, eSpatial’s leading geospatial software product suite, to allow viewing of the mosaicked data through a Web Browser. When a network interface is available from the GI-Eye imagery collection system, the WebGRIM product can provide near real-time viewing of a mosaicked map of the area covered by the imagery area. NAVSYS has received contracts with the Navy and USMC for integrating this product with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to provide real-time mapping for situational awareness.

At GeoINT 2007 NAVSYS, PCI Geomatics & eSpatial will demonstrate how WebGRIM can be used to capture data, process it to provide accurate Geo-referenced imagery, store the images in the Oracle Spatial database and deliver it to a ground station and other connected users via a web browser.
