The Zambia Association of Geographic Information System (ZAGIS) has started an online group for members. ZAGIS aims to be a support network for all those who work with spatial information in Zambia. The mission of ZAGIS is to provide a leading role in the promotion and maximisation of the use of GIS in Zambia.
ZAGIS objectives include:
– Promoting capacity building and human resource development in Zambia
– Promoting cooperation and exchange of information amonng GIS users in Zambia
– Cooperating and establishing links with national, regional and international institutions to promote the use of GIS
– Promoting and facilitating dialogue among policy makers and members of the public in GIS matters
– Developing and mantaining an inventory of experts and institutions involved in the use of GIS
– Carrying out all tasks that further the objectives of ZAGIS
