Azores Government has created a new service to ensure the development of the attributions regarding to the region due to the recent regionalization of Portuguese Geographic Institute (IGP).
After this transition, Azores is responsable to maintain and improve the regional geodetic referencial, the promotion of cartographic cover, the execution and conversation of building cadastre and organization and maintanance of archives and georeferenced information database, among other tasks.
