On October 1st-2nd, 2008, The Second Edition of Galileo School was successfully organized in Mexico.The 2-days Educative Training was organized in the frame of the Galileo Information Centre (GIC) for Latin America Activities supported by INAOE/CRECTEALC Campus Mexico.

Galileo, the European Programme is based on a constellation of 30 satellites and two ground stations implemented in Europe. In 2013, Galileo will provide information concerning the positioning of users in many sectors. Galileo School’s program proposes high quality speeches and curses on system & applications.

The Galileo School programme proposed to give a robust introduction on the existing GNSS with a special attetion on the European Programmes: Galileo and Egnos. System architecture and system definition were presented, including Egnos and  the principle of on Satellites Based Aumentation System (SBAS) and basics on Ground-Based Aumentation System (GBAS).The critical notions of integrity and accuracy were also defined and presented.

International Cooperation with Latin America

Various research and development activities supervised by the European GNSS Supervisory Authority (GSA) are currently performing in the region in the framework of the Galileo International Cooperation with Latin America.
