Geographic Information Services, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of Data Viewer 1.1, incorporating additional functionality into the initial release of the product. Data Viewer, a Flex application built upon ArcGIS Server 9.3, delivers an easy-to-use, rich Internet application centered on a tabbed view concept. Data Viewer offers organizations the opportunity to deploy one application with multiple tabs defined by individual departments or other business requirements. Along with the core solution, a powerful administrative manager enables the capability to add/remove tabs, store queries, and design a personalized look and feel.

Data Viewer 1.1 provides additional capabilities over Esri’s Flex Template, including: Tabbed Views – Deploy one application with multiple tabs referencing multiple map services.Web Based Administration – Configure Data Viewer through an easy-to-use Administrator.

Data Viewer in Action: Multiple organizations have already purchased and implemented Data Viewer. One of those organizations is Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center. The CGRDC is comprised of a 10 county region along the Southeastern coast of Georgia. They are using Data Viewer to disseminate multiple build-out scenarios in support of a joint land use study of Fort Stewart and the surrounding communities. Data Viewer’s tabbed view concept allows the CGRDC to disseminate multiple development alternatives through one application.

"We needed a product that provided the flexibility to configure and deploy multiple map services through one application. Data Viewer met all of our requirements" said Chris Chalmers, CGRDC’s Gis Manager. "With Data Viewer’s configuration tools, our Analyst can add, remove, and manage different tabs in Data Viewer without ever writing a piece of code. This is important in the JLus project as development alternatives happen regularly and we need to be able to communicate these scenarios to our constituents and to the public".
