The ILWIS community is pleased to announce that ILWIS 3.6 has been released.
New in ILWIS 3.6:
– Inclusion of GDAL in much the same way as Geogateway once was included;
– ILWIS raster data can be used natively in ILWIS. This is a big step forward with respect to the previous support of GDAL;
– ILWIS supports Postgres tables and Postgis point and segment maps through native access from a Postgis database. A first implementation has been made to access these sources of data. It will be further extended in the future;
– User interface for Import has been improved to support a plug-in model for imports;
– Imports now largely follow a plug-in model (some old ones excepted). New imports can be added without changing ILWIS;
– The plug-in model has been extended to cover plug-ins stored in zip files that need their own folder structure to organize their functionality;
– Surface energy balancing (SEBS) has been extended and improved;
– Number of bug fixes;
– Improved Installation program.
