After releasing Ericsson Mobile Maps, Ericsson Labs are now taking their project one step further by launching the new product Ericsson Web Maps. With Ericsson Web Maps a new standard is set with streaming maps for the web, indicating that time has passed for conventional image based maps.
The Ericsson Web Maps carries the Ericsson signature of speed and clarity, featuring faster maps with better interaction. Ericsson Web Maps is released with APIs, web components and documentation to enable developers to bring dynamic maps into web sites or web applications. Similar to the Ericsson Mobile Maps, the Ericsson Web Maps uses Idevio’s unique and patented map technology RaveGeo to distribute and visualize the map. RaveGeo removes the constraints of fix scale levels and makes the Ericsson Web Maps five times more effective compared to other solutions. Additionally, the developer is given more flexibility in regards to configuration of the map appearance and integration of the map into other web, or mobile, applications.
