Spatial Data Integrations, Inc., a leader in utility mapping, software development and comprehensive GIS solutions, is pleased to announce the release of SDImapsT version 2.0.
First introduced in 2004, SDImapsT is specifically designed for the utility industry and is intended to give the power of GIS to users with all levels of computer experience. The software enables users to more efficiently manage infrastructure assets and create an accurate up-to-date system map without having to know GIS theory or database design/administration. SDImaps is an extension of ArcGIS 9.3.x software, a product of GIS industry leader, ESRI.
New to this version of SDImaps is the introduction of an electric utility module, which allows for the management of electric utility specific features. In addition, the embedded network trace functionality has been completely rewritten to allow for the creation of complex traces based upon both connectivity and feature attributes. Every feature that is found during the trace is now identified in a simple list box where the user can interact directly with the data through context menus.
Additional functionality has been added to allow for point dispersal for coincident features without affecting the underlying data, addition of stormwater features to the wastewater module, and improved database reporting using Microsoft Reporting Services. Other assorted enhancements in this latest release include the improved processing time for all tools and spatial queries; addition of ISO compliant metadata and additional descriptive keywords and attribute descriptions; and the restored ability to add data from SDE databases or ODBC connections.
