Braziland Belgium signed a cooperation agreement on space technology in the Belgian city of Liege on Tuesday, the Brazilian Ministry of Science and Technology announced.

The accord was signed between the Brazilian Space Agency and the Belgian Space Center of Liege, ministry sources added.

The four-year agreement also includes cooperation in education of space science and techniques, apart from cooperation in such fields as earth observation, conception and proof of space instruments, satellite payloads, university nano-satellites, optic techniques and specific technologies for the space sector.

Brazil and Belgium agreed to secure financing and technicalities for agreed space cooperation.

Initiated in 1964, the Brazilian space program has come to boast significant capabilities in launch vehicles, launch sites and satellite manufacturing.
