Blue Marble Geographics is pleased to announce they will be holding the annual Blue Marble User Group meeting, Wednesday July 14th at the ESRI International Users’ Conference in San Diego. Join Blue Marble for a complimentary lunch and demonstration of the newest release of the Blue Marble Desktop version 2.2, featuring support for raster Digital Elevation Models (DEM) like Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED) and USGS Spatial Data Transfer Standard (SDTS). The new Desktop version also includes enhanced batch file processing features, such as a new batch interface for point data conversions and the ability to use an unlimited number of Desktop jobs in a batch conversion. Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software companies, universities, oil and gas companies, civil engineering, surveying, technology, enterprise GIS groups, government and military organizations.
The Blue Marble Desktop v2.2 is due to be released on July 9th. Stop by booth 816 to register for the luncheon or simply register online here. Blue Marble will preview the latest features and functionality enhancements to the main modules of the Blue Marble Desktop (Geographic Calculator, Geographic Transformer, and Spatial Connect).
For Canadian users, the Geographic Calculator (v7.5) now includes support for the Alberta Township System legacy grids, versions 2.1-2.6, 3.1, 3.2 NAD27, 3.2 NAD83, and version 4.1. Users can now convert single points or files of points between different versions of ATS and any of our many geodetic or projected coordinate systems. The Geographic Calculator has the flexibility to read ATS strings in either Standard Survey or Unique Well Identifier order, and offsets can be measured either from the section corners or boundaries. Geographic Calculator v7.5 will have newly added options to work with non-standard road allowances as well. Geographic Transformer v6.2 upgrades will feature support for transformation of DEM (Digital Elevation Model) data for 3d transformations, with a built in hill-shading tool. The Desktop interface has been streamlined to facilitate the creation and processing of large batch jobs. This also enables an unlimited number of jobs to be run in a batch. The largest, most accurate and reliable coordinate transformation datasource will now reach out to include version 7.5 of the EPSG database. With dockable windows, enhanced workflow tools and seventeen years of global use, Blue Marble will save you time and money on every project. One powerful package, one easy to use interface, come see why so many global companies rely on Blue Marble.
“We are very excited once again to have the chance to meet with our users at the ESRI UC,” states Blue Marble’s President Patrick Cunningham, “Blue Marble software has been steadily evolving over the years and we always enjoy demonstrating our new software solutions and seeing old friends at the same time.”
