Having global reach, the new platform already has almost 50 groups to discuss themes related to geospatial solutions
The new social net GeoConnectPeople, launched at the beginning of last week, has already reached over 1000 members and continues growing. Being an unpublished initiative all over the world, the net is addressed to users and parties interested in geospatial technologies and applications and to those who want to share experiences and contacts.
Designed and maintained by MundoGEO, a Brazilian media group focused on geospatial industry, GeoConnectPeople has already demonstrated its global reach, with members from all over Latin America, besides Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, the United States, Russia, Korea, Angola, among other countries.
In this few days of life, GeoConnectPeople has already demonstrated its vocation for the debate of ideas and the collaborative creation of contents that have the objective of making the geospatial market grow in a sustainable way. Among the themes that are being debated by the community on GeoConnectPeople are the Geographic Information Systems (GIS), cartography, remote sensing, Location-based Services (LBS), among others. The community itself has already created groups on specific subjects, such as geography, geo blogs, open source software, Google Maps, environmental modeling, etc..
GeoConnectPeople is totally integrated with other social nets such as Twitter, Facebook and Google+. To post pictures, members may use their own accounts in Flickr. Besides that, there is also the option of registering in the net using an account from Gmail, Yahoo, Twitter or Facebook. The content posted in GeoconnectPeople is also easily shared in MySpace, del.icio.us, StumbleUpon and Digg.
This is a social non-profitable project, created and maintained by MundoGEO.
