MundoGEO, a leader in hosting events and publishing magazines and portals to the geospatial industry in Latin America, announces the launch of the new magazine: MundoGEO in Spanish. The current edition, which covers story is the Spatial Data Infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean, is available for “browsing” and download in PDF format.
The new magazine MundoGEO in Spanish, bimonthly, brings a story about how the Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) are part of everyday life for those who work with geographic information in Latin America and the Caribbean, such as public institutions, especially the federal, state and municipal governments.
“Today, the role of government is changing quickly, from the official provider of geospatial information to the coordinator and data manager, besides facilitating partnerships between producers and consumers. As a result, many countries are developing national policies and practices that make it formal how geospatial data can be collected, stored, shared and used” (by Alexandre Scussel and Eduardo Freitas).

Among the news that the Spanish magazine MundoGEO presents to the GIS user, its Who’s Who section. In this space, readers have access to information on renowned professionals in Latin America, from the geotechnology industry.
Another news is the section MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica in 2012, an enduring editorial that brings the latest information on the largest gathering of geotechnology industry in Latin America, taking place May 29 thru 31 at the Frei Caneca Convention Center in Sao Paulo ( SP).
