GeoConnectPeopleLaunched in August 2011, by MundoGEO, GeoConnectPeople social network is an open space to all users and producers of geoinformation who wish to find colleagues and create groups to share experiences, ask questions and discuss relevant issues.

Recently, GeoConnectPeople surpassed 3000 members with participants from around the world. This is a nonprofit social project, built and maintained by MundoGEO, aligned to the company’s mission of connecting the global community of geospatial information.

According to Emerson Granemann, social networks provide an easy venue for people. “It is important that the community meet on physical spaces, such as events and classroom courses, but also virtual environments can overcome barriers of travel difficulties and lack of time, and allows the quick dissemination of information,” he says.
