Coffey Training in partnership with Bell Geospace, specialists in acquisition, processing, and interpretation of the highest quality airborne full tensor gravity gradiometry data, will offer from 30 July to 1 August in Belo Horizonte, the workshop about Airborne Gravity Gradiometry (Air-FTG).

Airborne-Gravity-Gradiometry-Air-FTG_2Airborne full tensor gravity gradiometry uses a gradiometer to measure small changes in the earth’s gravity associated near surface density changes. Gravity gradiometry measurements used in conjunction with other geologic and geophysical data provides a more accurate understanding of the local geologic structure to reduce risk in exploration for mineral resources.

This three-day course is designed for exploration geologists, geophysicists, managers, and field technicians wishing to gain a better understanding of general principles of full tensor gravity gradiometry and to develop basic data interpretation skills for both structural mapping and ore delineation objectives.
The sessions provide a detailed review and discussion of gravity gradiometry theory, a description of the gravity gradiometer, and up to date Air-FTG processing and interpretation methods, including a workstation demonstration so that participants appreciate important uses of this cutting edge technology. Exploration geologists and geophysicists of all experience levels will benefit from this course by understanding appropriate uses for gravity gradiometry and by adding gravity gradiometry interpretation to their technical skills portfolio.

Anyone with a background in general field of Earth Sciences will qualify for this course. Exploration geologists, geophysicists, exploration managers, and field technicians of any levels of experience will benefit in this course. The course is non-mathematical in its treatment of the topic.
