Nokia Location & Commerce business unit is seeking a brand Field Analyst I to join them. The Field Analyst is a developmental role with mentoring support from the more experienced Geographic Analysts and the Team Lead. Under direct supervision, the Field Analyst I participates in map creation activities within a defined geographic area. Engages and supports expert communities on map content updates.
The selected professional will be responsible for: Plan, schedule and perform field data collection activities as required; Participate in planning and sourcing of map content; Ensure accurate representation of real world conditions in the database in a defined geographic area; Conduct database testing and inspection within a defined area as part of database ownership; Support map creation efforts with Global Production Operations·
Perform high priority geo-coding updates as required; Solicits, establishes, trains and sustains relationships with local organizations (“expert communities”) that provide map content updates utilizing a Nokia API; Participate in projects to develop improved map creation processes; Participate in local trade group(s) as appropriate.
Job qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in GIS/Geography, Science, Technology or related field preferred;
• GIS experience is preferred and proficiency in PC software packages including a familiarity with geography encoding;
• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and in local language of assigned territory;
• Ability for spatial orientation (e.g., applying map to “real world”);
• Ability to travel frequently and for extended periods within and outside the area.
