These two new trainings are part of MundoGEO geospatial e-learning platform.

ArcGIS and Quantum GIS online training
Two courses in Spanish are now available at MundoGEO virtual learning platform. “Introduction to Geographic Information Systems – Practice with ArcGIS” online course provides the student initial GIS concepts by practical activities with ArcGIS, the world famous software developed by ESRI.
“Introduction to Geographic Information Systems – Practice with Quantum GIS” online course provides the student nitial GIS concepts by practical activities with Quantum GIS, an open source software widely used for geographic analysis.
These two trainings feature the main concepts of geographic information systems and also the main options available in ArcGIS and Quantum GIS softwares. By acessing MundoGEO e-learning platform, the student completes the steps of the course and produces his/her own maps and cartographic products. The training include a presentation topic, which presents how the course navigation can be performed, and a link for downloading geographic data, as well as instructions on how installing the softwares. At subsequent topics the student performs practical exercises along with geographic information theoretical and concepts:
• Tabular and Spatial Data exploration;
• Maps Symbology and Analysis;
• Maps Layout;
• Cartography;
• Data Edition.
The two online trainings propose 8 hours of workload, not to mention the complementary content (articles, tutorials, webinars, etc.). In case of any doubts, the student may contact the tutors or the instructor and watch tutorial videos with step-by-step demonstrations.
