IBGE launches the 2014 issue of Brasil em números/Brazil in figures (IBGE’s bilingual publication) with a ceremony in the Inhotim Institute, in Brumadinho (MG). The president of IBGE, Wasmália Bivar, will be present at the solemnity.
This is the 22nd volume of the book which brings information on national territory, demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the population, prices, national accounts, agriculture, industry, trade and service, finances, foreign trade, science and technology and basic statistics of the Government, including comparative data among the Brazilian states.
Moreover, the edition gathers rich content articles signed by renowned professors, technicians and researchers, offering the reader a deep perspective on each of the addressed themes and an overview of the Brazilian reality in its multiple aspects. Concise, the book provides readers with a pleasurable, light reading, targeted at anyone wishing to better know Brazil in a practical, illustrated way.
In this 2014 issue, the publication is illustrated with the works of art of the Inhotim Institute, an arts center in the open, set in the municipality of Brumadinho, in the state of Minas Gerais. The illustration aims at joining cultural and regional aspects by means of pictures introducing the chapters.
The Book Launch Party of Brazil in Figures 2014 will be held today, August 29, at 11 am, in the Inhotim Institute (20, B Street, Brumadinho, MG).
