The company PlanetObserver has presented PlanetSAT 15 L8, a new range of country base maps processed from fresh Landsat 8 imagery. PlanetSAT 15 L8 products are seamless base maps with 15-metre resolution, processed in natural colours from orthorectified Landsat 8 imagery. Having selected the best available cloudless scenes collected since spring 2013, PlanetObserver offers a new generation of imagery base maps.
PlanetSAT 15 L8 base maps are immediately available for many Middle East countries (Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria). Production is now focusing on Iran and Saudi Arabia, as well as the whole Arabian Peninsula and Maghreb countries. The list of countries and areas available is regularly updated on PlanetObserver website.
The new range is a natural expansion of the company’s imagery portfolio, explained Laurent Masselot, CEO of PlanetObserver. After the release of PlanetSAT 15 v4.2 global imagery base map, thy are now concentrating on the production of strong value-added country mosaics with fresh data.
