More than 1,000 Professionals Attended Houston Conference & Exhibition on 3D Technologies for Asset Actualization

The 12th edition of SPAR International surpassed previous attendance records, Lisa Murray, the event director, announced today. “SPAR International had 1,077 verified attendees this year, an increase of more than 200 attendees over last year,” said Ms. Murray. “The exhibit floor was also the largest in the event’s history with 110 booths, including 30 companies brand-new to SPAR.” The conference and exhibition on 3D technologies for asset actualization took place March 30-April 2 in Houston.

“The increase in exhibits and attendance by 20% over last year’s event was evident to everyone,” said Ms. Murray. “Exhibit hall traffic was lively, conference sessions were full, and the positive energy was palpable. Our primary goal was to target key user prospects and expose them to all SPAR has to offer in terms of cutting edge technologies and innovative workplace solutions. We researched new outlets of potential users who may not have known us and attracted many of them to SPAR for the first time.”

Dave Henderson, Topcon’s Director of Sales-Geospatial Solutions, an exhibitor at SPAR said, “Three words I’d use to describe SPAR 2015 are innovative, technology and education. SPAR has taken the best of these and created an educational system to invigorate the community that needs to know about this information.”

The addition of a sponsored hologram room, Smartglass augmented reality demonstrations and the DAQRI augmented reality helmet were all experiential elements added to the show floor to encourage interaction and engagement and added much to the exhibit hall experience. In addition, a new UAV/UAS pavilion showcased the market’s most disruptive technology and live demonstrations showed data capture tools in action.

The event attracts a diverse audience looking for the information, tools and connections that will help them work more efficiently and safely and save time and money using 3D tools. John Brown, the 3D Scanning and Modeling Lead for General Motors, called SPAR 2015 “compelling, comprehensive and diverse.”
