Boasting a built-in 5-watt FRS/GMRS radio for a communication range of up to 20 miles, the Rino 650t comes preloaded with detailed TOPO U.S. 100K maps and a one-year subscription to BirdsEye Satellite imagery 1.
Like previous Rino models, the new 650t features a 2.6” glove-friendly color display and a full navigational toolset with high-sensitivity GPS, barometric altimeter, 3-axis electronic compass and NOAA weather radio. The Rino 650t is ideal for anyone who wants to navigate safely, easily communicate, and share position information and more without relying on sporadic cell service while out on the trail.

Featuring a 2.6” color touchscreen display, the Rino 650t has a built-in 5-watt two-way FRS/GMRS radio. With a range of up to two miles over FRS and 20 miles of GMRS, users can communicate with the touch of a button, or utilize the unique Position Reporting feature to send and receive the exact GPS location of other Rino users. The Rino 650t also supports exchanging short text messages in the field through radio signals and information like waypoints, routes, tracks and geocaches through ANT+ with many other compatible Garmin devices. In addition to transferring data from unit-to-unit, the Rino 650t also supports Garmin Basestation, which allows users to track their units on a computer through Garmin BaseCamp™, letting them access their data on a larger screen.
With the built-in high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix® and quad helix antenna, the Rino 650t can acquire GPS location quickly and maintain an accurate reading, even in heavy cover. It comes preloaded with TOPO U.S. 100K maps, as well as a one-year subscription to BirdsEye Satellite imagery for extremely detailed mapping data. With the microSD card slot, the 650t is also compatible with additional maps like HuntView™ to see public and private land data while hunting or BlueChart® g2 while out on the water. The Rino 650t is equipped with a 3-axis electronic compass as well as an altimeter for accurate elevation data and a barometer to keep track of short-term changes in air pressure, which can predict weather changes. Additionally, the 650t has a built-in NOAA weather radio, which displays county lines as well as storm watches and warnings to keep users aware of the current weather conditions.
Built to withstand the elements, the Rino 650t has a rugged exterior that boasts an IPX7 water rating 2. It can get up to 14-hours of battery life with the included rechargeable Li-ion pack, and up to 18 hours with the optional AA battery pack (sold separately). It is also compatible with Garmin spine mounting accessories like the carabiner clip, handlebar mount and belt clip, so it can always be mounted within an arm’s reach.
Available in summer 2015, the Rino 650t will have a suggested retail price of $549.99.
