MundoGEOXperience will be held from May 6 thru 9 May in Sao Paulo with free participation
MundoGEO is pleased to announce a whole new event in 2014, focused on developing solutions to society using geospatial information. MundoGEOXperience – Geographic Ideas Marathon – will be held from May 7 thru 9, parallel to the 4th edition of MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2014 – Conference and Trade Fair of Geomatics and Geospatial Solutions. This event will feature integration, competition and the development of innovative solutions in order to meet the demands of the society, by using location attributes and geographic analysis.
One of the activities of this new event is GEO Academy, an opportunity for students to present their projects and results of geospatial applied research. This initiative aims to bring together the academic community and geospatial industry, by offering innovative solutions for geospatial information users.
GEO Academy does not intend to replace other academic and scientific events, but to provide a new opportunity for students to showcase their work – in progress or already accomplished – in an innovative way , with a focus on applied research and practical results. For this, GEO Academy proposes two forms of presentations:
• Geo Talks: academic/scientific papers quickly presented during 10 minutes tops, followed by 5 minutes of questions and answers.
• e-Posters: academic/scientific papers, introducing an innovative presentation model, where the posters will be displayed dynamically on large digital screens.
For presenting works and projects in GEO Academy, both in Geo Talks and e-Posters, the students should submit their papers using a specific form found in MundoGEOXperience website. The projects will be evaluated by a committee consisting of Academy, Government and Enterprises experts, and the approved ones will be presented during the event.
Deadlines:
• Proposals submission: February 28
• Acceptance notification: March 17
• Submission of presentation files (ppt): April 25
• Presentations (oral and posters): May 6 thru 9

MundoGEO#Connect 2014
MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2014 will be held at the Frei Caneca Convention Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and will provide 36 courses, seminars, special events and professional meetings, which will take place during four days – including the pre-event on May 6. In 2014, the participant will be able to choose exactly which topics and days he wants to attend. By subscribing in two activities, the third one will be free.
