Leica Geosystems has released the Leica Spider software suite v5, a major new version of its CORS solution. This updated suite offers RTK network operators a solution available for GNSS infrastructures and RTK networks. The updated Spider Software Suite supports thousands of rover users in the field simultaneously by making software use easier and more cost-effective for RTK users.

The Spider suite can be tailored to provide high-speed, real-time management for such applications as GNSS surveying, machine control, GIS, seismic and structural monitoring. Leica GNSS Spider is the core software component of this suite used to centrally manage GNSS networks and reference stations. Also integrated are the Leica Spider Business Center for managing rover user access securely, the Leica SpiderWeb for value-added web services and the Leica SpiderQC for quality control and data analysis.

The Leica Spider software suite v5 now uses Leica Geosystems’ software-based licensing system Client License Manager CLM . This allows hardware-independent installation and software use and also improved tools for managing the entire Spider suite. This new licensing technology allows installing and using the software conveniently in remote data centres without the need for physical access to the servers. Also, fully functional evaluation licenses can be more easily distributed worldwide to existing and prospective customers.

New user experience within the revamped web front-end of the Spider Business Center allows network administrators and support engineers to manage, monitor and support users in the field without the need for browser plugins by using HTML5 web technology – making 24h support to rover users more efficient and providing user experience to all users on any desktop or mobile operating systems using any browser. Thousands of rover users can easily be supported and contacted simultaneously from one central place.
