Colombia is the temporary secretary for the IV Americas’ Spatial Conference and shares a deal with United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs  (OOSA), which aims the development of action and assistance plans in spatial projects.

Governmental institutions that use satellite navigation technologies in Colombia have organised, with OOSA and the United States, the "International Seminar about Using and Applications of Global Navigation Satellite Systems – GNSS". The event was held from 26th to 29th Septermber in Bogota.

Due to its great importance, OOSA, USA State Department, Russian Spatial Agency, ESA among others institutions, took part and presented lectures at the event.

The main topics were education, precise agriculture, remote sensing and transportation.
